Présentation
Compagnie Off is an emblematic street arts theater company founded in 1986 by Philippe Freslon. Its creations in the public space, born of multidisciplinary know-how, travel around the world.
Inspired by opera, circus, contemporary art, dance and contemporary music, they combine performance and monumental scenography.
A close relationship with the audience
Compagnie Off creates the event in the venue, setting the scene for its timeless visions. Spectacular, lively performances take place on moving or built ground. The site becomes a space of energy at the service of controlled excess.
Compagnie Off plays with folly, transfiguring universal themes - love, death, difference - and exacerbating feelings. The shows are participatory in form, and are performed in close collaboration with the audience, plunging them into a flood of emotions and generating a unique collective experience.
Transmission in the public space
In parallel with its creations, since 2015 Compagnie Off has been supporting artists from the Centre-Val de Loire region and elsewhere with an artistic project aimed at the public space.

Article 1 - Want, always want!

Focus / Spotlight on
Philippe Freslon
Author, set designer and director, he founded Compagnie Off in Tours in 1986. His artistic approach is based on an imagination imbued with extravagance and misappropriation. With a passion for opera, he has explored through numerous creations the adaptation of this form to the urban space, to make it more accessible, and constantly relies on the confrontation between reality and fiction, the earth and the beyond, the popular and the learned, the profane and the sacred.
Compagnie Off is supported by the Région Centre-Val de Loire, the City of Tours, Tours Métropole Val de Loire and ADAMI.(France)
